Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, answered the question of what will happen to the autonomy of Crimea after the war. According to him, after the de-occupation of Crimea, his autonomous status will most likely be taken away.
Podolyak stated this during an interview on the autonomy of Crimea.
In his opinion, the existence of autonomies within a unitary state is a breeding ground for separatist sentiments.
“Obviously, having received autonomy, you subconsciously consider yourself better than other regions in some way. For a unitary state, autonomy is a dangerous path, it is a path to conflict at the regional level,” he added.
At the same time, Ukraine has ethnic minorities whose rights must be respected. In this context, he mentioned the Crimean Tatars, “worthy of sympathy” of the Ukrainians.
The adviser also commented on the topic of Ukrainization of Crimea and the entire society of Ukraine.
In his opinion, first of all, it is necessary to create a high-quality cultural product that will be interesting even at the international level.
