PMC Wagner, founded by businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin close to the Kremlin, opened at least three new recruiting centers based on Russian sports clubs between March 2 and 4.

This is stated in the summary of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW). Its experts did not rule out that the actions are designed to compensate the Wagnerites for the loss of access to the recruitment of new fighters in penal colonies.

ISW writes that the new Wagner PMC recruiting centers are based in the Dynamo sports complex in Samara, the Antares sports club in Rostov-on-Don and the building of the Russian Boxing Federation in Tyumen.

According to the Wagner PMC itself, recruitment centers have been launched on the basis of eight sports clubs in Moscow, Meduza drew attention . On March 2, Prigozhin said that the company began to cooperate with sports clubs to recruit new fighters.

This week it became known that in St. Petersburg, in the recently opened “PMC Wagner Center”, the youth patriotic club “Vagneryonok” started working. Its officially declared task is “to instill in the younger generation a love for their Fatherland.”
