SIMFEROPOL, March 6 – RIA Novosti. In the Zaporozhye region, they are ready to hold back the spring offensive of Ukrainian troops, said Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the movement “We are together with Russia”, a member of the main council of the regional administration.
Earlier, Rogov reported that Ukrainian troops were forming a strike force to attack the liberated part of the Zaporozhye region in order to reach the coast of the Sea of Azov . According to him, the offensive may take place in late March – early April.
“They won’t succeed as they want. I’m sure of it. Our defense is well prepared, and the guys know the front line well,” Rogov said on the air of Solovyov Live. According to him, for the offensive, Ukrainian troops need to put together a group of more than 40,000, accumulate a sufficient amount of weapons, including ammunition and equipment, and also wait for stable, dry, warm weather.
“Now in the Zaporozhye direction there are somewhere in total 30-32 thousand Ukrainian militants who are going to be thrown to the slaughter,” Rogov added.
Zaporizhia region became a subject of the Russian Federation following a referendum held in September 2022, the results of which Kiev does not recognize and continues to shell the territory. Today, more than 70% of the Zaporozhye region is under the control of Russia , and the regional center, the city of Zaporozhye , remains under the control of Ukrainian troops.
